Last year, parishioners at St. Joseph's made a real difference for refugees here in York who are fleeing violence and trying to find safety for their families by collecting blankets/comforters for them — many who have never experienced winter weather. Since our last blanket drive, the YMCA's New American Welcome Center has helped more than 600 more Haitians fleeing increasing violence in their homeland. Many families, including children, are living in unheated spaces and the Center has asked for more blankets to keep these families warm this fall/winter. Please consider donating new and gently used clean blankets and comforters that can be left in the hallway leading to the church meeting rooms. Please mark the blankets “for our new neighbors”. Thank you for your generosity. Questions can be sent to Chris Echterling at [email protected].
