LENTEN COOKING COMPETITION

A favorite Lenten recipe/cooking competition will be held once again on Friday, March 15th at 6 PM in the St. Francis/St. Clare rooms.

There will be three food categories and three judges: 1. Favorite Entree-Judge: Fr. Sahd; 2. Favorite Side Dish-Judge: Suzanne Piccolo; and 3. Favorite Dessert-Judge: Bill Fullerton.

The competition is open to everyone!

Competitors must register with Kelly Brown no later than 6 PM March 10th via text at 717-668-0509 or email at [email protected]. Be sure to provide your name, telephone number and name of item(s) being prepared for the competition. Competitors may enter one, two, or all three categories.

On the day of the competition, the entree, side dish, or dessert must be presented to Columbiette President Sandy Brown and an entrance fee of $10 no later than 5:45pm at the St. Francis room entrance/registration table. A tent card with your name, competition category, and recipe title will be placed with your potential winning recipe on the judge's table. Refrigeration and heating hookups will be available to keep hot items hot and cold items cold. Each competitor must advise the respective judge: "Today, I have prepared for you_________. The ingredients includes: __________." Sandy Brown and her team will then present a sample of your item being judged. The judge will then rate each recipe item and determine the winner in each category.

Winners will take home a framed certificate, $100 cash prize per winning recipe, and bragging rights. As with the previous competition, everyone attending the event will stay and enjoy sampling the items presented for the competition.
