Have you lost a loved one to suicide or know of someone who has? Come join us on Sunday, June 27that 6:00 PM in the St. Pio meeting room at St. Joseph York. There is perhaps nothing more painful in the world than for us to lose a loved one to suicide. For a time, it seems that the pain is unending. The survivors left behind after such a devastating loss have a difficult array of emotions to overcome on the journey to learn how to cope with the grief. The stigma attached to suicide increase the anxiety and isolation we feel. Medical studies report that what suicide loss survivors find most helpful is “talking one-to-one with another survivor and participating in a suicide grief support group.” As companions, we accompany each other in a setting where free expression of grief is acceptable, confidentiality is observed, and compassion and non-judgmental attitudes prevail as we encounter Divine Mercy.
