Are you interested in becoming Catholic or completing your Sacraments of Initiation?
Regardless of your answer to these questions, full initiation into the Catholic Church first requires discernment of this calling and an understanding of what it means to believe in and practice the Faith. To guide you on this path, the Church requires a period of formation that includes weekly classes, typically starting after the first of the year and culminating at the end of the Easter Season of the following year. If you are inquiring about initiation after classes have begun, it may not be too late! Please complete the four steps below, regardless of the time of year.
OCIA sessions are held every Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM.
There are separate classes available for Adults, for Teenagers (generally ages 14-18), and for Children (generally ages 8-13) - all held in the meeting rooms in the church building at the same time.
There are a few things you can do to get started:
1) Email the OCIA Coordinator, Shelley Schlosser at [email protected] to arrange a time to meet with her and/or Fr. Sahd, our pastor. It is important to meet face-to-face with them so that they get to know you personally. They will ask you about your faith journey and what leads you to this interest in the OCIA. They will also help you discern when to begin, how long it may take, and how the OCIA Team will best be able to suit your individual needs.
2) If you have been baptized, you will need to submit a copy of your baptismal certificate to the Coordinator of OCIA, Shelley Schlosser, at [email protected] or bring it to the office to make a copy.
